Please tell us about your current responsibilities.
We are mainly engaged in development work related to welding power sources. In my department, there are two divisions: the software division and the hardware division.
As a member of the software department, I am in charge of the development and maintenance of embedded software for welding power sources and PC software that works with the equipment.
In addition, when orders for equipment overlap, I sometimes do wire-tying work at the site of equipment assembly work. I had no experience in the actual work of processing the ends of electrical wiring materials and routing the wires, so I was not sure if I could do it at first, but my seniors gently taught me, and now I am completely used to it.
What is the daily work flow?
I arrive at the office around 7:50 a.m. and check my email first. A morning meeting is held at 8:15 a.m., and actual work begins at around 8:45 a.m. In the case of PC software and embedded software development work, coding and debugging is done in the office of your own department. Lunch break at 12:00, afternoon work resumes at 12:50. When there are not enough hands on site, I go to support the wiring of the equipment. After working until 5:10 p.m., I clean up and have a progress meeting before leaving the office.
During busy periods, there is some overtime work, but the basic rule is to leave the office on time.
What is the culture and culture of Hi-Mecha Corporation that you can be proud of?
I think that the company as a whole has an atmosphere and soil in which employees are valued.
The work is hard, of course, but the environment is designed to help you focus on the hard work.
The presence of a medical clinic adjacent to the company, stress checks, a well-balanced nutritional canteen, etc. ...... This kind of environmental support for employees is a part of the company that never wavers, so it gives me peace of mind that I will be working here for a long time. Also, although this is more about my department than the company as a whole, I think that information sharing is very strong.
In addition to our individual efforts, I think that by sharing information closely, we are able to follow each other and work efficiently.
Please tell us about your job hunting activities at that time.
At first, I participated in large scale joint information sessions to gather information about companies I was interested in. When I was having a hard time narrowing down the job I wanted to do among the wide range of industries and sectors, a professor in my department introduced me to several companies.
I got a job at one of those companies, Hi-Mecha Corporation.
What do you find attractive about our company when you actually work there?
Because we handle the entire process of manufacturing automated machines for our products in-house, we have people who specialize in various fields such as design, processing, assembly, and electricity.
Even with the same developed product, different specialists will have completely different impressions and opinions. When I presented a product that was in the process of development before, I was freshly surprised by unexpected opinions. I think this is the appeal of development and could be our weapon.
The rest is lunch.
When looking for a job, we tend to focus on the salary, the atmosphere, and the content of the work, but when you actually work there, it is outstandingly attractive that the lunch you always eat every day is cheap, warm, and delicious. Before the spread of corona infection, there was a buffet style. I am looking forward to the day when it will be reopened as soon as possible.
What career steps are you envisioning?
There is no process in software design. The completed image and required functions are presented in the specifications, but the specific processing details are left to the discretion of the designer.
This means that the completeness of the software design depends on the skill level of the individual.
In order to eliminate as much as possible the dependence on individual skills, we hope to clarify this as an internal rule so that anyone can write software with the same quality and readability.
Toward that ideal, I will steadily take more steps as an engineer.
Please tell us about an episode in which you felt you had grown.
A customer for whom I had been in charge of software design and had delivered the software called me in a hurry and said, "The software stopped working after the equipment was restarted, so I need you to come right away. When I was able to handle the situation by myself, I realized how much I had grown.
It's one thing to say that the software is malfunctioning, but the cause could be hidden in the software design, or it could be caused by a PC update, or it could be due to poor communication or a malfunctioning connection device. Investigating the cause of a bug requires knowledge and experience to determine the source. The fact that I was able to complete this task by myself made me feel that I had grown a little.
What message would you like to send to job hunters?
I am sure that job-hunting activities have changed in the midst of corona infection, but it is important to interact with people under any circumstances. You will be able to get a sense of the culture that cannot be fully conveyed by the introduction and photos on the website. If you know someone who works there, it would be a good idea to talk to them. I think that utilizing various methods and getting to know the atmosphere of the company will help you choose a company that you can work for for a long time.
I hope that as you continue your job hunting activities, you will find a company that you can say, "This is it!
If that is Hi-Mecha Corporation, we are very happy.

I am in charge of mechanical design work. Based on requests from customers, such as "I want this kind of machine" or "I want to add this kind of function," we use 2D CAD and 3D CAD to design automatic machines that meet those functions and satisfy the customer. We also visit customers to talk to them and observe their equipment in order to learn about their current situation. In addition to design work, I also occasionally perform tasks other than design work, such as supporting assembly work.
Please tell us about your job hunting activities at that time.
I originally wanted to find a job in my hometown of Yamagata and be involved in manufacturing, so I was looking for a company with its headquarters or offices in Yamagata Prefecture.
I took this into consideration when I visited the company information sessions. I also participated in company tours of companies that I was interested in at the company information sessions so that I could get a feel for the actual atmosphere of the company, which is something you cannot get by just researching. After that, I entered several companies and finally joined Hi-Mecha Corporation.
Did you have any worries about joining the company?
I had majored in mechanical engineering, so I was hoping to be assigned to a design or assembly department if possible, but I was not sure if I would be assigned as I wished. I was also worried about whether I could actually contribute to the company and do my job since my position would change drastically from a student to a working adult. When I first joined the company, I had to learn a lot from my seniors, and I felt very bad about asking them for their time. However, as I learned from my seniors, I began to enjoy my work and feel a sense of accomplishment when the equipment I was in charge of designing was completed.。
What do you find most rewarding about your work?
I feel a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment when I see the equipment and units I designed completed and in operation, and when I imagine them actually being shipped to the customer and in operation.
The design process does not always take shape immediately after the customer's feedback.
The design process takes shape through trial and error. For this reason, I feel a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment as well as a sense of relief when I start the equipment operation and the series of operations are completed without any problems.
What message would you like to send to job hunters?
As you go about your job hunting activities, I'm sure you will feel anxious about many things.
However, it's okay to have that anxiety, so when it comes to the real hiring test or interview, I urge you to go in with confidence. We are all anxious about the same thing. Please do your best to be honest with your sensibilities and thoughts, and be firm and confident.

The development and design of automatic equipment devices is the main task.
After the sales department receives a job order, they meet directly with the customer to determine the specifications. The main tasks are as follows: rough concept (equipment layout, technical calculations) → creation of assembly and parts drawings using 3D CAD, submission of drawings → submission of materials to assembly and circuitry → follow-up until the equipment is completed. Depending on the busy situation, we may also provide support for assembly work. We are involved in almost every step of the process, from the order stage to delivery to the customer.
What is the daily work flow?
The work is determined by a monthly schedule, so there is no set daily flow. The following is an example of a day's work flow.
8:15 Arrive at office, morning meeting
8:30 Check and reply to emails
9:00 Equipment design work
12:00 Lunch and rest
12:50 Designing equipment and responding to inquiries about drawings and equipment
16:00 Exchanging information with the person in charge of the equipment and software
17:10 Go home (overtime work is done as needed)
What is the culture and culture of Hi-Mecha Corporation that you can be proud of?
Although it has not been held for the past two years due to the fact that the company is under corona infection, the company holds several events a year for employees to interact with each other, such as the summer festival, sweet potato stew party, and year-end party.
My hobbies were soccer and snowboarding, so this event allowed me to talk to people from other departments and find colleagues with common interests. In our private life, we have various opportunities to interact with each other such as golfing and fishing. I think we are proud of the fact that we have places where we can get along and have fun outside of work.
What do you find attractive about our company when you actually work there?
Automatic equipment devices may not be what you had envisioned and may not work. It is important to find solutions on your own, but there are many things that you cannot solve alone.I am blessed with supervisors and seniors who I can feel free to ask anything at such times, and they will work with me to come up with countermeasures. Also, by hearing from the people who are actually making adjustments to the equipment, they can give me ideas that transcend departmental boundaries, such as, "You should do more here.
>I think the appeal is that I can learn things that I wouldn't notice on my own and use them in my next work to make better products, and I can grow at the same time.
What do you find most rewarding about your work?
Most of the products we handle are custom-made devices. In mechanical design, it is important to come up with ideas. The key is to make use of the high mechanical technology that I have accumulated so far, and to be able to accurately draw the image in my mind and reproduce the movements as I expected.
There are many things that can go wrong when you try something new, but the sense of accomplishment and relief (or peace of mind) that comes with repeated trial and error is what makes it worthwhile.
What message would you like to send to job hunters?
As I have found in my actual work, there is far more to learn in the working world than what you learn in school. For this reason, I think it is good to choose a company from the perspective that you will enjoy working there for a long time. In addition, I think your job hunting activities will go better if you have one non-negotiable goal in mind, such as "I want to work for a local company. I know that self-analysis and company research is a lot of work, but your life as a company employee will take up a large part of your life in the future. It's a good opportunity to reevaluate yourself, so make sure you are prepared so that you won't regret it later. This is a path that everyone takes, so please do your best.

I am in charge of assembling and adjusting the equipment. Assembly work includes the assembly of units (pieces of equipment) and pneumatic piping. However, assembling the parts and giving shape to them is not the end of the story. In the adjustment work to be continued, we will position each mechanism and ensure accuracy in terms of height, parallelism, etc., so that the equipment being assembled can reliably produce products. I work every day to ensure that the equipment meets the requirements of the equipment's operating rate, the quality status of the products produced by the equipment, and that the customer is satisfied with the equipment.
What is the culture and culture of Hi-Mecha Corporation that you can be proud of?
I am most proud of the lunch we have at the employee cafeteria. A variety of dishes are available for a low price and a full meal. I don't think there are many other companies that have such a well-stocked employee cafeteria. When I tell this to my friends outside the company, they are very jealous because many of them use convenience stores.
Please tell us about your job hunting activities at that time.
When I was wondering where I should find a job, the teachers at my high school recommended our company.
When I was in high school, I was interested in assembling things. Since I had studied mainly manufacturing, I chose our company as a candidate for employment because of its assembly-related work.
When I experienced assembly work during an internship at another company, I felt the joy of assembly work and decided that I would work in assembly in the future, which ultimately led me to apply to our company.
Why did you choose our company?
I learned that our company has high technology, and I decided to join our company because I wanted to hone my technical skills through work. Another deciding factor for me was the fact that the company also focuses on improving people's abilities and provides an environment where they can grow as human beings.
What career steps are you envisioning?
We aim to become engineers who can play an active role in the world. I want to become an expert who can communicate with customers as well as possess and demonstrate solid technical skills. We have many customers from overseas. I would like to master foreign languages, especially Chinese, as I will need to provide extensive support to both domestic and overseas customers. I also had a Chinese colleague who worked with me in assembly work for the first two years of my career. He is currently working in China, and I look forward to working with him in the near future.
What message would you like to send to job hunters?
I can say from the bottom of my heart that I am now doing the work I want to do. It may be difficult to find a job that you want to do, but I hope that you will take the time to think about it and choose it as the first step in determining your future life. Asking your friends and seniors who have already started working ahead of you about their work will help you visualize it better.
Also, if you do the work that you want to do.
- Keep your work motivation high.
- Even when my work is not going well, I can't lose heart and want to accomplish it.
- I feel like I want to grow even more.
You will be able to think.
We handle the entire process from order receipt to shipment, so you can enjoy the joy of completing the equipment. We also have various departments such as parts processing, equipment assembly, wiring work, machine design, circuit design, etc., providing an environment in which each of us can give shape to the work we want to do. Why don't you come and work for Hi-Mecha Corporation!
